Ricky Ellis

 

Is a 5 time world champion mandolin player, and a state champion fiddle player along with many other titles. Ricky began playing at 5 years old, and become a world champion at the ripe young age of 14. He now plays in a band called Common Ground, but before that toured the country with his family band called BG Express. Ricky was offered various positions in professional bands, but decided to form his own when his children were young. 

 

This past summer Ricky placed 2nd at Elk Creek Bluegrass Festival, and 7th and the worlds largest fiddlers convention- Galax Old Time Fiddlers Convention. 

 

His hard work and dedication to bluegrass music has paid off, and Ricky is the best person to show any beginer the ropes of being a musician.
